2024 SEGD Tools on ADA Compliance is presented by Nova Polymers.

Join us for the SEGD Tools webinar where Tim Lloyd, Director of Business Operations, Sales, and Marketing at Nova Polymers, presents on the ADA and how it relates to Room Identification and Wayfinding Signage. This presentation will cover the same content as previously presented by Tim in the first iteration of this webinar on August 8, 2024. Some of the course objectives that will be covered include: What is the ADA? How do ADA codes relate to signage? Understanding the relationship between state and federal ADA regulations, with a brief overview of California's accessibility codes. The course will conclude with a discussion about photopolymer and its use in making accessible signage.

Learning Outcomes:

Provide SEGD membership the specifics to the ADA specifications for sign and installation compliancy
Provide SEGD membership a clear, uncomplicated webinar review of the ADA sign specifications in an easy-to-understand format covering the ADA history, sign specifications, braille requirements, and overall understanding of this important portion of the ADA act.
Provide SEGD membership with an easy-to-use Quick Reference Guide for ADA sign specifications. A tool they can keep handy for reference when working on appropriate sign compliance designs.

This webinar is registered with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and is eligible for 1 Health Safety and Welfare Learning Unit. Please note that participants are eligible to receive the Continuing Education Unit (CEU) for only one of these presentations.

Tim Lloyd

Director Busines Unit, Sales, Production, & Marketing of Nova Polymers

Liz Griswold is the Director of Education and Experience for SEGD. She is responsible for managing a portfolio of key internal projects and initiatives for the organization. With her focus aimed on strategic integration, Liz is responsible for the communication, management and logistical support of targeted milestones and projects. She contributes to knowledge-sharing efforts and coordinates with external partners and consultancy firms. Liz joined the SEGD staff in 2022, and has been an active professional member since 2005. In 2017, Liz co-founded the SEGD Raleigh Chapter, where she served as a Chapter Co-Chair from 2017 – 2022, and received the 2022 SEGD Chapter Chair Award. She also served as co-chair for the SEGD Emerging Experiential Professions (previously YDS) from 2020 – 2022. Prior to joining SEGD as a staff member, Liz Griswold led the Experiential Graphic Design markets for two different A/E firms.

Liz Griswold holds a B.S. in Graphic Arts from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, with a concentration in public relations and a minor in English.
